Assassin character design tutorial for Digital painting and Photoshop. Here is another quick video tutorial showing how I create a character design. You can also find step by step tutorial by scrolling down further.

Assassin is throwing small hammers. This piece is basically from one of my speedpainting group topic, Flying Hammers. I was trying to design a light armored assassin dude with many small hammers for throwing. I thought the idea would be interesting and a bit different, using blunt instrument as ranged weapons. This painting takes about half hour or so to finish. Basically I usually start off with simple shapes of a character in some form of action pose. Then I will flesh out the idea with detail and lighting. This one is pretty much in my comfort zone. I am thinking about doing more art out of my comfort zone more in the up coming post.
