How do you avoid losing saturation in skin tones and things ending up looking dead? I’m conflicted on how I should paint my art when looking at methods like starting grayscale then colorizing and others?

I am sadly one who never has luck on her side of winning things, how ever I was wondering is there a tablet you know of that one can be used for fluid ed motion on drawing in clip paint. I normally draw on paper but would like to try more digitally. Also any tips on improving my type of art work a mix of anime and cartoon so eastern and western ? Thank you in advance if you can give me some advice I tend to be shy for the most part but I love your art work its been very helpful!?
