Digital painting tutorial mermaid

Digital painting tutorial mermaid speedpainting. This tutorial shows you how to paint a scene underwater with a mermaid character. Underwater scene is usually less colorful than that of on land because it lacks lighting.
It is usually blue in the ocean or open water and often green to muddy in river setting. Most of the images from underwater are almost monochromatic in nature. And things in distance often get a lot more blurry than in land situation.
I also talk about using references in this video. Find good references and you can borrow the lighting and mood from the image and some you can borrow its design language.
This painting is done really quick for practicing purpose so keep in mind that it is not a finish illustration.

Tips on speedpainting. Keep it simple first and make your image clear and easy to read or identify.
Things you should focus on primarily.
1) Shapes
2) Lighting and mood
3) Edges and depth of field.
