Digital painting process UFO crashes step by step

Digital painting process UFO crashes step by step. This tutorial shows you step by step how I create a quick concept art piece of a UFO crashing in the arctic. First and foremost before you can visualize an image, the easiest way for me is to come up with event or some story. Then you have to decide on location of the event, and possibly time line. I pick Arctic as a location and timeline would be present days (looks like).
Once you have all that information, then you should (highly recommended) gather related references so you can compose your scene. Whether you are familiar with the subject or not, reference is always extremely useful. It will make your scene a lot more real if you are using good source of references.

Here is my UFO crashes scene.
