Gretel and Hansel environmental concept art tutorial. This video tutorial shows you how to paint forest with Photoshop. This is a digital painting lesson for environment concept art. You can scroll down below to see step by step images with instruction.

This one I was inspired by Grimm’s tale of Gretel and Hansel. It is a story about brother and sister discovered a candy hut in the woods. Hansel and Gretel are a young brother and sister threatened by a cannibalistic witch living deep in the forest in a house constructed of cake and confectionery. The two children save their lives by outwitting her.
In this painting, the process is a really intend for a quick concept painting just to get the idea across, not a polished art work by any means. This piece of concept is part of my quest to get better on environmental art. This one is also still very basic with not much level of detail, just to translate my idea into visual. I use quite a bit of custom brushes on leaves, branches, grasses, etc. I have a video tutorial on how I paint forest environmental concept. The process in the video is very similar to this Gretel and Hansel concept art.
