How to draw Hawkman

How to draw Hawkman from DC comics Justice League. Hawkman is a winged vigilante who fights crime using a flight harness made from Nth metal and a mace.
In this tutorial, you will learn to draw Hawkman in DC comics style drawing. This is a very simple and basic drawing tutorial, it should be easy for everyone including beginners. Hawkman usually wears hawk-head helmet but no shirt, except small circular shaped shield strapped on his torso. He also has wings on his back like angel. Unlike some of my intermediate or digital painting tutorials, I try to make this as simple and easy as possible. It is very important to have some knowledge of anatomy for any artist, specially if you want to be good at character design for games or penciller for comics. Most of American comics, the uniform are form fitting so you will have to draw character’s muscle groups. Though you don’t have to know every muscles on the body, but it is still very important to make sure that the visible anatomy is correct. The best way I would suggest to learn anatomy is to to attend life drawing session nearest you. One more drawing tips that will make your drawing process easier is to break down the subject in simple geometry shapes first. Before I draw something, I will observe and break down the subject in simple geometries. I will always make the drawing or initial sketch simple, that way it is easier when you draw more detail on top of the simple shapes. It is a lot easier to draw once you observe the over all shape of the object or person you are trying to draw. In this drawing, you will see cable in a natural standing pose. You should not be intimidate with all the muscles, anatomy, and detail of the characters.
Hawkman’s secret identity is Carter Hall, an archaeologist and museum curator who lives out his destiny as a reincarnation of the ancient Egyptian prince Khufu using magic weaponry. Katar Hol is another version who appeared during the Silver Age, an alien policeman from the planet Thanagar with access to advanced technology. The character has been involved with the Justice Society and Justice League.

Below are step by step how to draw Hawkman.  Step one, I started with his head shape with wing like shapes on both side of his head.  Step two, I then drew over the head shape and add wings detail to make it a helmet.  Step three, I finished his hawk helmet drawing.  I then added rough drawing of torso, arms and fist.  Step four, I drew his muscles detail on his body and his arms.  Step five, I finished his right hand drawing and began to draw rough shape of the mace he is holding.  Step six, I finished the mace drawing and drew both wings on his back.
