How to draw Power Man, Luke Cage. Adopting the alias Luke Cage and donning a distinctive costume, he launched a career as a Hero for Hire, helping anyone who could meet his price. Cage is superhumanly strong, able to lift/press approximately 25 tons and punch through barriers as thick as four-inch steel plate. His skin is steel-hard and his muscles and bone tissue super-dense; he can withstand conventional handgun fire at a range of four feet and cannot be cut by the sharpest of blades, although in the event of required surgery his skin can be lacerated by an overpowered medical laser.
In this tutorial, you will learn to draw Power Man, Luke Cage, from step by step along with drawing instruction. The step by step process will show you how to draw face and body along with his costume. In this drawing, you will draw him from a slightly side view position from head to knees. Unlike most superheros, Power Man usually wear regular jeans and buttons shirt. So you won’t have to draw character’s muscles, only when he takes his shirt off. Though you don’t have to know every muscles on the body, but you still have to make sure that the visible anatomy is correct. The best way I would suggest to learn anatomy is to to attend life drawing session nearest you. If you cannot, you can always find any anatomy book for artists as reference source. Another useful method, before you start drawing, if you can look at any subject and able to break it down into simple geometry shapes. Start with big shape first, then break it down smaller within the big piece to get his muscle groups correct.
Below are step by step how to draw Power Man, Luke Cage. Step one, I roughly sketch out his head, shoulder and torso. Step two, I then drew construction lines to measure his facial structure. Step three, follow the construction lines as seen in the image to draw his eyes, eyebrows, nose, and lips over them. Step four, I roughly sketched his arm and add some detail onto his long sleeves shirt. Step five, I finished drawing the rest of his arm in the front. Step six, I added his signature huge chains and finished the rest of the body.
