In this tutorial, you will learn to draw Captain Marvel with step by step basic drawing instruction. The step by step images will show you how to draw both his face, muscular body and the lightening costume in a static natural standing pose. It is also important have some knowledge of anatomy as an artist. Though you don’t have to know every muscles on the body. One of the best way to learn anatomy is to go to life drawing session. Quick gesture drawing will help you understand dynamic movement and attitude while longer poses will help you learn anatomy and muscle structure in real life. I usually start drawing the character with gesture lines to get the basic structure and pose of a character. It is very important to get correct shape, proportion, and accuracy for initial sketch, before you start drawing with solid lines. This way, when you make a final drawing, your drawing will be accurate. Remember to keep it simple and correct before going on to the next step.
Below are step by step how to draw Captain Marvel or Shazam. First, I started with his head and facial construction lines. Step two, I drew his eyes along the horizontal lines, then his nose and mouth. I also managed to put his hair in. Step three, I then added his torso and both his muscular arms. Step four, I drew his pectorals, forearms, and his cape. Step five, I add more muscle detail along both of his arms. Step six, I add more detail like rib cage, abs, and more fine detail on his torso. Then I am finished.
