In this tutorial, you will learn to draw a Balrog’s face, hair and part of his upper body. I will also show you how to draw proper muscle structure for this type of character like shoulders, biceps, triceps, and chest muscles. It is important have some knowledge of anatomy, especially the muscles that are most visible to our eyes. This drawing took me about forty minutes to draw just for tutorial purpose, it is not a finished art work by any mean.
Balrog is a heavily built, very muscular boxer. He wears blue boxing trunks with white trim and a torn white shirt under a blue tank top. He wears red boxing gloves and boxing shoes. He lacks a canine tooth in the upper right side of his mouth and his hairstyle consists of short hair in what appears to be wide cornrows – this hairstyle is similar to Mike Tyson’s haircuts from the time Street Fighter II was made. Balrog is a self-centered, hot-tempered, arrogant, flippant, self-seeking and sadistic pugilist who possesses an insatiable urge for money.

It is an easy way to sketch out just shape first. Step two, I then draw over more detail on his face and body structure. It is very important to get correct shape, proportion, and accuracy for initial sketch.
