How to draw Red Riding Hood. Learn to draw a little red riding hood cartoon character from step by step images along with basic instruction. In this tutorial, you will learn to draw a character from classic fairy tale cartoon style drawing. Little red riding hood is also known as Little Red Cap, is a European fairy tale about a young girl and a Big Bad Wolf. This mini lesson is a basic drawing tutorial and easy to follow for beginner to novice. Usuaully before I start drawing anything new, I always break the character down into simple geometry shapes to get the basic face and body structure first. It is a lot easier to draw once you take time to study the over all shape of a character you are trying to draw.
The story revolves around a girl called Little Red Riding Hood, after the red hooded cape/cloak (in Perrault’s fairytale) or simple cap (in the Grimms’ fairytale) she wears. The girl walks through the woods to deliver food to her sick grandmother. A wolf wants to eat the girl but is afraid to do so in public. He approaches Little Red Riding Hood and she naïvely tells him where she is going. He suggests the girl pick some flowers, which she does. In the meantime, he goes to the grandmother’s house and gains entry by pretending to be the girl. He swallows the grandmother whole,(In some stories, he locks her in the closet), and waits for the girl, disguised as the grandma.
Here is a final drawing of Little Red Riding Hood cartoon.
Below are step by step images show you how to draw little red riding hood. Step one, I was just getting the basic head shape down. Step two I then drew vertical line to line up in the middle of the face. The top horizontal line should be in the middle of the head’s height. The distance between the parallel horizontal lines should equal the height of her eyes. Step three, I drew both eye shapes within the parallel lines, then nose and mouth along with her hood. Tip of her nose should be half way from her top horizontal line to the bottom of her face, mouth is half way between the distance. Step four, I then clean up and erase the loosely sketch lines, remains only the solid final line drawn. Step five and six, I shaded in some medium gray for her hood and cape then finalize the drawing.
