I also include step by step images with in easy to follow instruction inside this tutorial. The step by step images provide helpful insight of the drawing process along with the video lesson. It is a the way to help you practice your drawing better with the video instruction. In this tutorial, you will learn to draw a Zangief’s face, Mohawk hair style and part of his upper body. Zangief is one of the bigger dudes among most of the characters in Street Fighter. I design his body structure using big muscular man’s body type. I will also show you how to draw proper muscle structure for this style of character like big shoulders, gigantic biceps and triceps on both of his arms along with chest muscles. It is also important have some knowledge of anatomy, but you don’t have to know every muscles on his body. Most of the time you have to know the more dominant and visible muscles male characters. This drawing took me about forty minutes to draw just for tutorial purpose. At the beginning, I usually start drawing the character using simple geometry shapes to get the basic structure of a character. It is very important to get correct shape, proportion, and accuracy for initial sketch. This way, when you make a final drawing, your drawing will be accurate. Remember to observe the character with keen eyes then keep it simple and correct before going on to the next step.
Zangief (ザンギエフ, Зангиев) also known as the “Red Cyclone.” Zangief is a massive fighter, standing slightly over 7 feet tall and weighing 254 lbs. Since his debut in Street Fighter II: The World Warrior in 1991, Zangief has been protrayed with a beard and a mohawk, along with a uniquely-shaped formation of chest hair on his torso and on his shins. His massive frame is almost entirely covered in scars from his bouts with brown bears in the barren and remote area of Siberia. As a note of interest, Zangief has some of the least amount of clothing of any Street Fighter character, with his wardrobe consisting of a simple red-colored wrestling speedo with a gold belt, along with red and gold wristbands and his red wrestling boots.
