How to draw portrait or face of Scarlet Witch from Marvel comics. Learn to draw female character’s face Scarlet Witch step by step with instruction. This tutorial goes from very basic construction sketch of facial proportion and anatomy to the refine finished render portrait painting. Scarlet Witch is one of my recent favorite character from Marvel, I also did a tutorial with her body previously at how to draw Scarlet Witch. But in this one, you will just learn to draw her face.
Scarlet Witch is the daughter of the Magneto and a gypsy woman named Magda. Just prior to her birth, her mother fled from her father, terrified of the bizarre powers he suddenly manifested and his intentions of world domination. Seeking refuge in the scientific citadel of Wundagore in the Balkan mountains. An American couple vacationing in Europe, Robert and Madeline Frank. Robert Frank met with new born baby Scarlet and her twins then he raise them as his own natural children.
Here is a final portrait drawing of Scarlet Witch.
Follow step by step drawing instruction along with the images
Step one, I start with an egg shape drawing, this portrait will be in three quarter view of a face. I was taught to always attach the neck and a bit of shoulder with the head when doing face, it gives you more of an illusion of this is part of a person. Never draw just the head alone, it will look awkward. When you see an illusion of this is a part of a person, you will do a better job filling the rest in, instead of just an outline of egg shape or oval.
Step two, Imagine a flat plane on front surface of an oval shape, think in 3D, then draw two vertical lines across the imaginary plane. After that, draw a vertical line to divide the flat plane in half from top to bottom. Then draw a horizontal line to separate the top and bottom distance in half. This horizontal line would be where humans eyes should be, they are usually right in the middle of the face horizontally.
Step three, I add two more horizontal line on top and bottom of the existing one. These line will help me indicate how tall should the eyes be in comparison to the rest of the face. As for the nose, it is half way in between the first horizontal line and the bottom of her chin. And the mouth is half between the nose and the edge of her chin.
Step four, I draw the eyes, it should be within the top and bottom parallel horizontal lines. The distance between the two eyes should equal one eye. Then I begin to draw the nose, notice that I did not draw the whole nose. Go watch how to draw nose three quarter view video tutorial for more detail. Then I finish this one off with the upper lips.
As for her ears, they should be on the same horizontal level as both eyes. Then another for ear lobe, it should be a bit above the nose mark.
