Below are step by step images how to paint stone bridge. Step one, I start off with shapes, using big angular flat brushes (modified default PS brush). Then I started assigning values, and block in shape to create illusion of geometry. Step three, I then add more detail in the geometry shape, think as if you are making 3D object or sculpting. Step four, I add complimentary color on the backdrop to create illusion of depth. Also using edges to define distance.

    I love your paintings, but I’m dying to know, does that ‘sharp’ brush which is sort of ‘pinched’ come with Photoshop, or is it a custom brush?!
