Draw and paint Skyrim warrior

How to draw and paint Skyrim warrior character. Learn to draw and paint a warrior character from Elder Scroll Skyrim from video tutorial and step by step instruction with images. In this tutorial, you will learn basic drawing of a warrior character then basic painting of a character process. I usually start out with monochrome then add color later. It is easier to work with monochrome or achromatic because there are only a few element you have to deal with. In mono, all you have to think about when painting is correct drawing, proportion and value. Those foundation are hard enough to give you a headache when you are painting without any reference. If you are trying to do that with all the color you have to deal with, it will be a mess. Though it is possible, you can start off with color. But most of the time I like to make a solid foundation before I have to deal with color. Just the matter of preference of working method. In this one, we will learn to paint metal, skin, face and helmet, along with fur. Remember this is not a finished illustration, it is a speed painting. Though speed painting could be used for a foundation for finished illustration.
Skyrim’s main story revolves around the player character’s efforts to defeat Alduin, the firstborn of Tamriel’s primary deity Akatosh. Alduin is prophesied to destroy the world. Set two hundred years after Oblivion, the game takes place in the land of Skyrim, which is in the midst of a civil war after the assassination of the High King. The open world gameplay of the Elder Scrolls series returns in Skyrim; the player can explore the land at will and ignore or postpone the main quest indefinitely.

Here is a speedpainting unfinished version of a warrior character from Skyrim.

Below are step by step how to draw Skyrim in achromatic theme.  Step one, I sketched an anonymous male figure.  Step two, with only necessary elements of the character, I can then use dark gray to make a silhouette from a previous line drawn.  Step three, I paint some darker value for the costume along with some basic shadow.

Then we start adding color by painting step by step here.  Step four, now we paint in sepia for the overall image so that it has color.  Then add some blue for the sky to compliment warm hue we already have.  Step five, I then add his facial expression then clean up his armor and skin tone some more.  Step six, I then slowly introduce color on his skin, helmet, and shoulder pad.  And we are done!  Watch the drawing and painting video tutorial for more in depth detail instruction.
