How to draw Green Lantern. Learn to draw and paint Green Lantern character from video tutorial and step by step images. In this tutorial, you will learn how to draw a superhero Green Lantern from the waist up along with digital painting technique. Here is another speedpainting of superhero GREEN LANTERN. It’s been a couple weeks since I post speedpainting last. I always get inspired whenever they are going to make another movie of superhero. Anyway, honestly, Green Lantern has never really been on my list. I only wish that they will make Dead Pool with Ryan Reynolds, that guy has come a long way since “Van Wilder” (I still love the film btw). Anyway here are step by step and video tutorial of how to draw superhero Van Wilder, no I meant Green Lantern. This one I start of with a bit more line work because I have to deal with a slight perspective from the head down. So I just want to make sure the shape go correctly using line work as guideline. Then from shape I render it out with values in basically monochrome and randomly playing with edges outside the figure to create some sort of fake background. I want to play with it a little further but then I lost interest and just leave it as is. This one took me about an hour or so.
Green Lantern is the name of several fictional characters, superheroes appearing in comic books published by DC Comics (I didn’t know that, um…would he then be Dead Pool for Marvel? probably NOT.) Each Green Lantern possesses a power ring and power lantern that gives the user great control over the physical world as long as the wielder has sufficient willpower and strength to wield it. The ring is one of the most powerful weapons in the universe, and can be very dangerous. While the ring of the Golden Age Green Lantern (Alan Scott) was magically powered, the rings worn by all subsequent Lanterns were technological creations of the Guardians of the Universe, who granted such rings to worthy candidates. These individuals made up the intergalactic police force known as the Green Lantern Corps.

Below are step by step how to draw Green Lantern to watch along with video tutorial. Step one, I sketch his head facing slightly upward, then his shoulders and downward torso or upper body. Step two, then I drew his arm along both side of the torso. His pose is in slightly from upward bird eyes view. Step three, then I added some basic muscles detail. There are pectorals, abs, and rip-cage for torso. There are deltoids, biceps, triceps, and forearms on both arms. Step four, I decided to change to position of is right arm to have his fist upward. Step five, I used medium gray and dark gray to establish basic shade for overall image. Step six, I then just add additional detail on his muscle structures on the body. Next, we can begin to paint over.
Below are step by step how to paint Green Lantern to watch along with the video instruction. Step one, I used green to paint first as a primary and dominant color for the image. Step two, once we have to loosely base color, we can now getting his face and body in the correct places, beware of over use of value. At this point I probably only use three to five value range from light to dark. Step three, I can start adding some lighting on his chest, facial structure, and outline on his left side (or back lighting). Step four, I painted in his chest symbol, ring, and additional highlight on both shoulders. Step five, in this stage, we can amp up his hot spot and some light source that comes from his own body. And we are done! Go watch the video tutorial for in dept and more detail instruction.
