Now, this tutorial turns out nicely. One of my better ones. It doesn’t take long and turn out the way I want. Surprisingly that doesn’t really happen a lot because we all want to push it even further as an artist. The more we paint and draw the more experience, we tend to see more mistake and how it should have been better. Anyway, here is a painting of a court lady…part of a small project I am working on. Below are step by step images how to paint court lady. Step one, I just roughly sketch out her body and head. Step two, I painted in secondary darker value to establish shadow. Step three, I then prep the background with brick texture painted in. Step four, now I paint her basic facial structure, pattern on her cloth, and basic light. Step five, now I refine her skin tone with lighter hue and finish up painting her portrait. Step six, then I can refine the rest of her skin part and add more detail onto her costume. Step seven, now it is time to clean up and tighten the image. And done!
