This character I have inspiration from Rogue of X-men, but the costume style is inspired by contemporary fashion of 2012. I thought with her character she would fit in to this costume setting that I came up with so it is just basically my take on the character. In this tutorial, you will learn how to draw hoodie jacket clothing, wrinkle and fold on clothing. Also you will learn to utilize light and shadow in gray scale along with character drawing.
Rogue is probably one of my favorite character from X-men because of her unique ability. Rogue has been one of the most popular and consistent members of the X-Men since the 1980s. Hailing from Caldecott, Mississippi (a fictional county), Rogue is the X-Men’s self-described southern belle. Rogue considers her powers a curse. She involuntarily absorbs and sometimes also removes the memories, physical strength, and the super abilities of any mutant she touches. This potentially fatal power prevented her from making any physical contact with others, including her love interest. A runaway, she was adopted by Mystique of the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants and grew up as a villain. After Rogue permanently absorbed Ms. Marvel’s psyche and Kree powers, she reformed and turned to the X-Men, fearing for her sanity.

Below are step by step images along with the video drawing tutorial. Step 1, I just rough sketch her head with jacket’s high collars and hoodie. Step 2, I sketch out the whole jacket with both long sleeves very roughly and light. Step 3, at the point I can start lay out her portrait construction line. Remember we are still at rough sketch stage so do not put in any dark permanent pencil mark. Step 4, once I have all the construction or rough lines in place, I can now draw in darker line to finish up the drawing. Step 5, I draw out the whole face with darker outline. Step 6, now I do the same with the rest of the body also apply some basic light and shadow. Finish! Watch the video instruction tutorial for more drawing detail.

Then I add some white paint to part of her hair. If you are using pencil and paper, you can just use white color pencil or gouache.
