Hey you should probably put your name on as well at least in the title of the artwork or somewhere.
I usually respond to names that seem familiar to me if I’ve seen you around on the forums before etc.
as for critiques its a little difficult because of the style, of digital oil. I think the angle is quite good composition wise
has a bit of a dutch tilt happening, perhaps the most noticeable problem is that the character blends too much into the background, try and separate them to create more depth.
is he holding his weapon or is it floating?
i think defining the armour more would help
painting sharper edges around the armour.
In general you need shaper edges you’ve got a soft brush
look at the moment which makes the character look
almost blurry.
the most defined thing at the moment is the axe.
hey Jacob
What i think you should watch out for is
your values, edges and colour.
saturation in this is a bit much, toning it down
would help.
Your edges at the moment are very soft so the features on
the face are less defined and slightly out of focus.
I am by no means a really good artist or the best but i try to help
out on here when i can some images posted on here barely get any
feedback or critiques.
don’t be discouraged and keep working at it you’ll get there.
I have to say great concept
but rendering could use some cleaning up.
just pain out some of the line work so it doesn’t look
too sketchy but its up to you.
lol that knee looks amazing.
the rest of the body needs to look that good.
any particular reason you chose that pose it
seems a little awkard. but im not sure need to see the finished
piece might make more sense later on.
overall i think you have a nice mood starting to happen with the lighting, but there is still room for more improvement.
more depth would help and establishing a focal point when i look at this my eyes sought of going all over the place trying to look at all the detail you’ve included.
less is more.
but i can definitely tell that you’re getting better and better with every painting.
looking awesome so far
the hat looks slightly out of place
but i know its got the groove on the top
to accommodate for his ears.
just makes it look like a western cowboy kinda hat
but everything else is looking really good.
wow top 3 are tied on 11 votes each.
what happens now is there a sudden death match.
where artist battle each other using their stylus’s
as swords and tablets as shields.
